Course Overview

The Bachelor of Vocation (B.Voc.) in Digital Art & Animation is a comprehensive 3-year undergraduate program designed to nurture creative talents in the field of digital art and animation. The curriculum blends theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice to prepare students for the dynamic digital media industry. The program focuses on areas such as graphic design, motion graphics, 2D and 3D animation, Game Design, VFX, and live-action filmmaking, equipping students with both artistic and technical skills.

First Year Foundation in Digital Art
The first year lays a strong foundation in the principles of digital art and media production. Students learn the core concepts of graphic design and digital art, delving into tools and techniques essential for creating visually appealing designs. The curriculum includes motion graphics, enabling students to bring static designs to life. Photography and cinematography modules introduce visual storytelling through camera work, while audio-video editing hones skills in post-production. Live-action filmmaking provides hands-on experience in producing short films, offering insights into the complete production workflow.
Second Year Advanced Animation Techniques
The second year focuses on building advanced skills in animation and design. Students explore stop-motion animation, mastering the art of creating movement frame by frame. 2D animation and drawing modules deepen their understanding of character creation and storytelling in a two-dimensional space. Transitioning to the third dimension, students learn 3D visualization and product design, developing models and assets that simulate real-world objects. CAD design is introduced to integrate technical precision into creative projects, bridging the gap between artistry and engineering.
Third Year Specialization in 3D Animation, Game Design and VFX
The final year equips students with professional-level expertise in 3D animation and visual effects. They develop skills in 3D modeling, texturing, rigging, and animation, which are crucial for creating lifelike characters and environments. Modules on lighting and rendering refine the visual quality of 3D scenes. Advanced topics like rotoscopy, tracking, matchmoving, and compositing are taught to enhance integration of live-action footage with digital elements. The program also covers rotomation, matte painting, and advanced tracking techniques. Students gain hands-on experience in creating stunning visual effects, enabling them to craft immersive and captivating digital worlds.
  • AI-Based Learning: Courses integrated with AI-powered tools and platforms to enhance the learning experience. This includes AI-assisted design tools, smart prototyping software, and machine learning applications in visual effects and game design.
